We know how important your student is and that you play a key role in supporting their success. College can be exciting, but students sometimes face challenges that affect their UMD experience.
What We Do

The Office of Family Engagement is the university’s main point of contact for families of undergraduate students. Our team provides support to you—so you can guide, advise and support your student. Whether your student is experiencing academic challenges, illness or injury, housing concerns, crises or other issues, we’re here to help.

Dean of Students Referrals
If your student needs support but isn’t sure where to start, please refer them to the Dean of Students Office. The Dean of Students team works with students to address challenges, find solutions and connect them with campus resources. Students or families can contact the office Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

You may also report a concern directly to the Dean of Students Office.
Emergencies
